Our Online Doctor Consultation service uses secure telehealth technology to connect patients with qualified healthcare practitioners without the need for a traditional in-person visit. Designed to improve access to affordable and convenient healthcare across South Africa, the service helps reduce travel, waiting times, and other barriers to receiving medical attention. Members can initiate a consultation through the contact centre, where a nurse first conducts a triage assessment and then provides an SMS link to access the virtual waiting room. The patient can then consult with a General Practitioner through a video call for conditions that can be safely managed remotely. Depending on the consultation, the doctor may provide health advice, a sick note, referral letter, or electronic prescription, including eligible chronic prescription renewals. The service provides a convenient way for patients to access healthcare from a safe and comfortable environment.
